OVERVIEW

ThinkUp Media collaborated with an artisanal coffee café to create a cinematic B-roll video that reflects the sensory and emotional depth of a coffee experience. The project aimed to elevate the café’s brand perception, highlight the craftsmanship behind every cup, and position it as a lifestyle destination for coffee lovers.

CHALLENGES & APPROACH

Capturing the essence of a café experience in a short film required balancing aesthetic storytelling with authenticity. One challenge was working with low-light interiors and natural lighting that shifted throughout the day. To manage this, we used fast lenses and light-enhancing setups while maintaining the organic charm of the café’s ambiance. Our approach centered on tactile visuals—macro shots of coffee beans, slow-motion milk pours, and close-ups of crema rising—designed to immerse the viewer in the process. Smooth slider movements, warm-toned color grading, and natural sound design were used to evoke comfort, depth, and warmth. Each shot was carefully curated to mirror a customer’s emotional journey: the anticipation, the aroma, the sip, and the pause.

THE RESULT

The final video significantly enhanced the café’s brand image, increasing social media engagement by over 40% in the first week of launch. Footfall saw a noticeable spike, especially among younger audiences who resonated with the aesthetic appeal. The café now uses the video across platforms—from Instagram Reels to website banners—creating a strong and lasting impression of quality, taste, and community.
