OVERVIEW

ThinkUp Media was tasked with creating a bold, high-impact B-roll commercial for a performance energy drink targeting fitness enthusiasts and young urban consumers. The goal was to visually communicate the drink’s energy-boosting, performance-driven personality with a cinematic edge that could thrive across social platforms and digital campaigns.

CHALLENGES & APPROACH

The key challenge in this project was to visually represent “energy” without relying on traditional narrative. We needed to embody speed, power, and refreshment within a short visual runtime. Our team tackled this with dynamic handheld and gimbal shots, rapid-fire editing, and aggressive sound design. Using dramatic lighting setups and cold color grading, we gave the video a gritty, adrenaline-charged vibe. We also incorporated slow-motion splashes, condensation close-ups, and kinetic product reveals to enhance the physicality and sensory appeal of the drink. The result was a visually charged sequence that feels as intense as the product itself—raw, bold, and unstoppable.

THE RESULT

The ad successfully elevated the energy drink’s digital branding, earning a 90% increase in video retention rate and 45% more engagement compared to previous campaigns. It resonated strongly with gym-goers, athletes, and content creators who shared and re-used the footage, further amplifying reach. The brand reported a notable uptick in direct sales and expressed interest in scaling the campaign across multiple regional markets.
